Thomas University's Board of Trustees hired a campus planner to help assess space needs as student enrollment increases.
The options are to move or expand at its current site.
With the school's annual $21 million economic impact, expansion could prove to further benefit the area's economy.
"If we grow substantially, we are going to increase that economic impact by an order of magnitude, so Thomas University down the road will become a powerful economic engine for Thomasville," says John Hutchinson.
Hutchinson says the university will engage in a capital campaign to raise funds for the expansion.
