West Side Story features 38 actors and a 23-piece orchestra.
All the performers are current students or recent graduates of Leon, Chiles and Lincoln High Schools.
The choral director said this is the first time a production has been performed in the Leon High Auditorium in 14 years, and the budget was top dollar.
Judy Arthur, choral director at Leon High School, said, "The budget for this show is $25,000 to produce this, and we get no funding from anybody, so ticket sales is what we rely on."
The production runs through Sunday. Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for children.
