It's election eve in Georgia as voters head to the polls for primaries Tuesday. A vote on a new sales tax, no need for photo ID at the polls, and new election poll books, will greet voters.
The electronic poll books, called the Express Poll, are new to the state of Georgia, put in place to help make voting easier and more efficient, making sure voters know where they need to go to vote.
Vickie Burnette with the Probate Court says, "The Express Poll will tell them which precinct they need to go to, including the address. They can do a statewide voter search, and if that person is supposed to be voting somewhere else, it will give that information also."
The majority of Tuesday’s races are statewide races. On the local front, there are two county commissioner races and two school board races. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
