At approximately 4:45 p.m., a Triple Wolfe Trucking Company log truck driven by J.C. Wolfe was traveling south down St. Augustine in Valdosta.
The Valdosta Police Department says at the intersection of Savannah and St. Augustine, the railroad barriers were not down and as the truck crossed the tracks it was hit by a train. The train was operated by CSX Railroad Company.
Wolfe and a passenger in the truck were taken South Georgia Medical Center. Their injuries are reportedly not life-threatening.
Police say the barriers are controlled by the railroad company, not by the city or the county.
