The Leon County Sheriff's Office is investigating where a man was found dead more than an hour ago. Officials say he was found next to the railroad tracks near Pensacola Street and Blountstown Highway.

Investigators describe the man as white and in his late 50's--they say he was found by a passerby. The Leon County Sheriff's Office is not ruling anything out, but deputies say the man had many belongings and it appears that he may be homeless. They also suspect that he may have died of natural causes. Investigators are still processing the scene, we'll have more information as it becomes available.

Why did the media put this story out to the public? We were given less than anything meaningful to try to help identify this person. We still have no clue if he is a member of ours in this community or that we probably ever will. Again, why was this story put out to the media?

DOES IT MATTER - - -- - -Well does it.... If you are entitled to your opinion why isn't everyone else? People from all walks of life read the news daily and it is quite interesting to read what others think as well. It puts things in to perspective a lot of the times. If you don't like what people was in the comment section then just stop reading it. No one is bending your arm or begging you to read their comment, they are just stating their opinion.

You know a man died.... if you watch the video of the report you can easily tell where it is. How dare you all critise these people who go out to write the news headlines. How about if they didnt nad you didnt know any news at all about what is going on? Then you would be lost and would then appriciate what they do. So how about you keep your comments about how they do their job to your self they are not telling you how to do yours. Plus i dont think any one without the quilifaction could do their job. So save us all the trouble of reading your smide remarks.

WCTV While I do enjoy reading the news your station provides is it absolutely nessessary to keep the most vied and coment section posted so long? In my own personal opinion 3-4 days is sufficient. I know there is more news to print than the same old thing day after day

Anna, to those who don't use Blountstown Hwy between Pensacola and Tennessee, it's easy to think it just becomes Pensacola St. Sam is right about the location being mis-reported by the Democrat tho. Blountstown St is the road that goes from Tharpe to Tennessee St. There are RR Trax near Blountstown St (tho it follows along Mission Rd). From Tennessee to W Pensacola and beyond, it is Blountstown Hwy (Hwy 20). My question would be, which set of tracks was he found on? The northbound or the westbound? The trax divide right there.

THE RR TRAX RUN UNDER BLOUNTSTOWN B4 YOU MERGE INTO PENSACOLA, DON'T BE SO QUICK TO JUDGE THE REPORTERS WHO ENTER THIS INFO. PLEASE LOOK AT YOUR MAP. I HAVE BEEN A DISPATCHER IN THIS AREA FOR CLOSE TO 20 YEARS. I KNEW EXACTLY WHERE THIS WAS LOCATED BY THE INFO IN THE ARTICLE.
