Florida Agriculture Commissioner Charles Bronson says there is good news for farmers and the state's economy.
Three marketing campaigns helped increase retail sales of Florida-grown agricultural products by almost $400 million over last year.
The campaigns saw an increase in participating grocery stores, an expanded geographic area, and an increase in the number of advertisements.
Bronson says farmers can plant for the future “with a degree of confidence.” And that benefits our state's economy through purchases of agricultural supplies, machinery, wage expenditures, and general spending.
Also, the campaigns helped create or retain over 2,400 full-time jobs and generated more than six and a half million dollars in taxable revenues.
