Teachers in Gadsden County kicked off the new year with a bang.
Teachers from every school in the county held a pep rally Tuesday morning at East Gadsden High School. The purpose was to celebrate the progress of the school district over the past few years.
Five Gadsden County schools earned an "F" grade in 2004, but now the district has no failing schools.
"Superintendent Reginald James has come and has motivated us and has brought us a lot of good speakers. He has make all of us feel proud, not just to be a product of Gadsden County, but to be a teacher in Gadsden County as well," said Sandra Riggins, a teacher with the Gadsden Elementary Magnet School.
The school year in Gadsden County begins Monday, August 14.
