Nearly one hundred laid off American Fiber workers met in Bainbridge Wednesday with hopes of continuing their career path.
The job seekers took part in skill assessment testing that will help determine and pair their interests and abilities with a new job.
"It's pretty hard to get out there in the job market when you've worked for one company for 27 years," said Ellen Morgan.
"We are assessing them we're doing their aptitudes and abilities and their interest inventory and what we do is try to match that up with what their area and training so they will be successful, in those areas," said Patricia Shepard.
Through this initiative, displaced workers are able to attend a trade school for two years while still receiving their unemployment benefits.
