Mechanics are trying to figure out why a Leon county school bus went up in flames.
Mechanics are examining the engine where most of the damage was done following Tuesday's blaze.
The transportation department says all 230 buses are checked every 26 days. That particular bus was just inspected July 10.
School mechanic Willie Scott is reassuring parents buses are a safe means of transportation.
"This is very rare. There are no records indicating that bus fires are a popular thing and right now we are doing another inspection of all the buses to make sure everything is in place and that nothing like this occurs again."
The school board says it'll take about a month to find out the exact cause.
Three students were on the bus, but all of them made it out before the blaze began.
