The group is made up of University leaders.
The committee is reviewing how to receive additional money and which programs would have to be cut.
They also discuss the impact any major decisions would have on students and university employees.
Officials say two years ago, F-S-U anticipated making budget cuts this year, but now it's bigger than they expected.
FSU's Vice President of Planning and Programs, Robert Bradley, says,
"We had anticipated something in the order of totaling over 30 million, this will be over 55 million dollars, almost 60 million dollars worth of budget cuts."
Officials say university staff and employees can receive updates on the committee on the Blackboard website.
