Earlier today, Deputies put out a first degree murder warrant for Haywood Henry, who they say is the prime suspect in the killing of Mileah Lindsey. This is just one of many warrants out for this man who deputies say is armed and dangerous.
The body of 22 year-old Mileah Lindsey was discovered in her home Monday afternoon by a family member.
As deputies were looking for 22 year-old Haywood Henry as a person of interest, Lindsey's 1994 Cutlass Sierra turned up in Bainbridge, Georgia.
An acquaintance of Henry's spoke to our media partner in Bainbridge about the Tallahassee murder, "It was kind of crazy though, because the person that it was that brought the car here, they say that they're not the cause of the young woman's death. But they say that the death happened, she the one who killed herself."
The woman went on to say that she drove Henry back to Tallahassee and told him to turn himself over to authorities. She also said, "He's kind of on the mental health side. He's suppose to be taking medicine and stuff. He hadn't been taking medicine since he got out of his program and stuff, so he's done a lot of stuff since then, and the police has already been looking for him."
As more information unfolded, Henry went from being a person of interest to the prime suspect.
"When we started talking to relatives and neighbors, we did develop some information that we're not going to divulge at this time, that led us to believe that this is a person we really need to talk to," said SGT Tony Drzewiecki, with the Leon County Sheriff's Office.
Henry has been living in Tallahassee, but also has relatives in Bainbridge, so they're looking for him in both areas.
If anyone has any information leading to Henry's whereabouts please call the Sheriff's Office at 850-922-3300.
Henry also has outstanding warrants for Sexual Battery with a firearm, Resisting Arrest with Violence, Grand Theft Auto, Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer and Felony Battery.
Deputies say the Henry and Lindsey do know each other. Officials say they've received a couple stories after interviewing relatives and friends. They say Henry and Lindsey were friends, but they're not sure if the two were more than that.
