Tallahassee Memorial Hospital officials say Cassandra Crawford came in to the hospital at about 3 a.m. and at about 5 a.m. she gave birth to a healthy baby boy.

Fontained Harden weighed in at 6 pounds and 5 ounces.

me - The Tallahassee Democrat also covered this story. The couple is not married. The father is 19, and this is his second child. While I'm disappointed that they've had two children out of wedlock, I'm more concerned with the fact that taxpayers like me will almost assuredly be paying for much of this child's upbringing.

Me, Please don't grasp at straws and defend the mother's poor excuse of the English language. There are no excuses for someone who speaks Ebonics and certainly no excuse for putting her on television for all of Tallahassee and southern GA to see.

The stories are about the first born child of the year at our local hospitals; not the fathers & mothers background. I have never seen a father mentioned in any of the first born stories; so it shouldn't be automatically assumed someone is not married or have a father involved with a child just because it's not mentioned in a story. I know for a fact, my husband would not be on camera with me & wouldn't want to be interviewed & I wouldn't think any less of him. Also, as for her interview; she just had a child & was probably on pain meds, so maybe that made her interview speech a little off. Congrats Cassandra!!
