FSU Freshmen Give Back to the Community

A few freshmen are rolling up their sleeves to help others.

FSU's Center for Civic Education and Service is sending out close to 30 freshmen to area non-profit organizations to volunteer.

The director of Tallahassee's Second Harvest Food Bank says student volunteers really come in handy when business picks up.

"It's giving them a picture of what is going on out in the real world. Not to say they don't know that already, but it's a real hands-on experience with what our needs are in the community," said Denise Griewisch, Second Harvest Food Bank Executive Director.

This makes the fifth year FSU has held the service leadership seminar.
