Folks who've come to rely on the Gretna Wellness Center for medical help will have to wait a little longer to see a doctor.
A lack of funding forced the FAMU/Gretna Wellness Center to close its doors in February. Residents counted on it to see a doctor or get medications.
Folks say since the closure of the Gadsden Memorial Hospital, it's important for the county to have at least one medical facility.
Regina Barkley said, "I know they used to have service when someone was sick they can get your medicine for you, so I think it will mean a lot for the clinic to be reopened.”
Health officials will meet with the new dean at Florida A&M to discuss opening the clinic next week.
