Florida Governor Says Gas Supply Ready for Ernesto

The governor says the state learned the hard way over the last couple of years that a good gas supply in advance of a storm is critical.

Gov. Jeb Bush said, “The ports actually have more inventories of gasoline and diesel now, it’s the highest level since we’ve been measuring it so we have adequate supplies. The ports are open and so they’ll be able to continue to get inventories in for a period of time.”

About 20 percent of the state’s gas stations are now pre-wired to use generator power if needed. A new law requiring the generator power at stations statewide doesn’t take effect until next year.
