For some, celebrating the life of Martin Luther King, Jr. is about helping those in need.
And in that spirit, Members of Daughters and Sons of Destiny Outreach Ministries organize a "Feed the Homeless Day" in Tallahassee each year.
They set up a buffet at the Carter-Strong Park near the Tallahassee homeless shelter and greeted each person with a warm smile and a hot meal.
"We get so blessed from being able to serve and that's really what our call is in life is to serve others who are less fortunate than us," says organizer Kimberly Thomas.
Organizers say they hand out fliers about the event a few days ahead of time and dozens of people showed up Monday afternoon.
This is the 6th year they've held this event on Martin Luther King Day.
