South Georgia Stabbing

Detectives with the Bainbridge police department say an altercation erupted between 35- year-old James Peterson and 50-year-0ld Amos Jackson around 10 p.m. Friday night.

Police say that's when Jackson pulled out a knife and stabbed Peterson in the right side of his neck. Peterson was transported to a nearby hospital where he later died. Jackson was taken to the Decatur county jail on a $50,000 bond.

He is charged with voluntary manslaughter.
