Hospital Delays

Twenty days was the anticipated deadline when the hospital will open its doors to patients, but that will not happen.

In the meantime, crews are busy sprucing up the hospital curbside to help it look more appealing when it’s finally reopened.

County manager Marlon Brown said the county had to wait on the bankruptcy court for the final approval before they open the urgent care facility. Once that takes place they will have another hurdle to cross.

"We have been negotiating with Tallahassee Memorial to run the urgent care facility. They're saying that it will be a minimum of 30 days once the court gives us access to the hospital to have the urgent care up and running," said Brown.

Brown anticipates the urgent care portion of the hospital will open up in mid-October, but it may take upwards of 18 months before the hospital is open up for residents.
