Shrimpers Awarded Multi-Million Dollar Grant

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has awarded s a $6.6 million grant to Florida's shrimp fishermen.

The shrimpers are facing economic hardship due to the increase of farm-raised shrimp imports.

The funds will become available in the next several months. The funds are part of a $35 million NOAA fisheries assistance package to shrimp fisherman and the shrimp fishermen and shrimp industry in eight states.
