Senator Addresses Florida's Insurance Crisis

Attorney General candidate Senator Skip Campbell in Tallahassee to address members of the Office of Insurance Regulation as they consider rate increase requests from four more companies.
The governor says he won’t call a special session until leaders of the house and senate reach a consensus on what needs to be done.
"Yes, Jeb, there is a consensus," Campbell told reporters Thusrday. "And the consensus is the citizens of Florida cannot take these rate increases any more. People don’t have extra, disposable income to pay 4, 5, 6, 7-thousand dollars for extra insurance premiums. And we have to get everybody back to the table, put all of the proposals on the table.”
The Office of Insurance Regulation is considering average statewide rate hikes between 45 and 110 percent.
