Robbery Task Force investigators arrested a Tallahassee man and charged him with the September 14 robbery of the Swifty Mart at 2700 Centerville Road.
On September 18, 2006, INV Mark Lewis developed a possible suspect for the robbery based on witness accounts and evidence. Lewis said he tracked this subject to a construction site off Orange Avenue and took him into custody.
Arrested was Dwayne Powell, 45, of 3007 Nathan Lane. He was booked into the Leon County Jail charged with Robbery with a Firearm. He is currently being held on $25,000 bond.
Lewis said, “The quick arrest of the suspect helps the victim with a sense of security knowing he’s off the streets and can’t harm anyone else.”
