A semitrailer truck hauling a crane struck and heavily damaged the I-95 overpass at the World Golf Village exit shortly before 1 p.m. Monday afternoon.
Southbound traffic was not affected, but the highway patrol says all northbound traffic is being detoured to State Road 16, perhaps until Tuesday.
Two westbound lanes remain open on International Golf Parkway, which crosses the interstate on the overpass, but only one eastbound lane is open.
Truck driver Marvin Castleberry of Hilliard was injured. He's in good condition at a Jacksonville Hospital.
Authorities say Castleberry was entering I-95 from International Golf Parkway and was merging with traffic when the boom of the crane expanded about six feet, striking the bridge.
World Golf Village is about 20 miles south of Jacksonville.
