That's a bunch of baloney," said Jim Markwell, a Franklin County resident. Some Wakulla County residents say they're disappointed of the recent news.

After reviewing several letters and a briefing report, the Governor's office has chosen not to have FDLE investigate Sheriff Harvey's hit and run accident.

Many of those residents unhappy with the situation...didn't want to be named. "Governor Crist, I know he has a lot of things to worry about and many thought this was just too small. But it's not too small for the people of this county. We just want answers," said a Wakulla County resident.

On February 20th, Sheriff Harvey was driving a county vehicle when he struck an SUV that was parked in a driveway, he left the scene and called deputies from home.

Wakulla County Sheriff's Office took over the investigation, but Sheriff Harvey later asked State Attorney Willie Meggs to intervene.

"I think that Willie Meggs really did the most he could have done. I mean, the Sheriff was found guilty of a misdemeanor, which is a crime. And I think he got the maximum penalties for what he could have gotten," said Dan Fairchild, a Wakulla County resident.

Wakulla County Commissioner Howard Kessler and some residents want a more neutral party to look into the incident.

Sheriff Harvey plead no contest to leaving the scene of an accident and has been sentenced.

The Governor's office says the case is being handled by the criminal justice system and that's all that's needed. We the Governor's office about the allegations made in the FHP report on Harvey's office, and the spokesperson says that was background information and there will be no probe into that material.

A spokesperson with the Governor's office says Governor Crist has met with his general council and after reviewing the information, including a briefing report and several letters, they decided not to ask the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to investigate Sheriff Harvey's hit and run accident that happened February 20th.

I lived in Tallahassee up until 15 years ago when I moved to Wakulla county. I worked at the Leon County jail for 10 years(at the old jail). Sheriff Boone was the sheriff and Larry Campbel was undersheriff. If an officer was in danger, Larry Campbell was there to protect you no matter what, even by putting his own life on the line. His officers trusted him, even if they did not like him. But if you were wrong, You were toast! I know for a fact all types of former law enforcement officials have made mistakes but paid the price by Sheriff Campbel placing them in his jail. I have seen TPD, FHP FDLE and DOC and every other agency go to jail there. Sheriff campbell DOES his job. Please dont compare Wakulla county corruption to Tallahassee!!! If a LEO in Tallahassee had done this they would have been removed from the agency at once! there may be some corruption like there is anywhere but PLEASE, It is not this bad.

From the number one story on the front page to buried in the archives. Proves that WCTV manipulates the news just like the rest of the national liberal media outlets.

I see the pressure is mounting on WCTV finally. they have removed the "stories with most comments" about the Harvey situation.
