Dr. Sarfraz Mirza is the owner and operator of a pain clinic in Melbourne. She was arrested along with an office worker in connection with a large-scale operation aimed at illegally providing prescription drugs to addicts.

Other arrest warrants have been issued.

Mirza is charged with trafficking in Oxycontin and delivery or sale of other controlled substances. His assistant is charged with obtaining Oxycontin, prescription fraud and conspiracy.

Officials say painkiller addicts got pills with fraudulent prescriptions.

State authorities say it shows the need for a statewide computer database to track prescriptions for narcotic painkillers and other controlled drugs.
