Witnesses say the family was sitting outside under the carport and the baby was in a high chair when the accident happened.

A mechanic was working on the family car and left it running.

At one point the baby’s mother decided to turn the car off, but instead the car rolled back and over her 9-month-old baby Loreena Morejen, and pinned her husband as well.

The baby fell from the high chair behind the back wheel of the car, coming face-to-face with the car’s muffler.

Neighbors were able to pull both victims to safety.

Florida Highway Patrol reports that the case is under investigation, but charges are unlikely.
