An unexpected boom in enrollment has Tallahassee Community College looking to the community for help. Radio ads will soon hit the airwaves to encourage adjunct instructors to teach fall courses, but if the response is insufficient it may be tough to land a class in eagle country.
A new early registration program at Tallahassee Community College had administrators anticipating a five percent enrollment jump. However, at some point administrators fear they may be limited by space and qualified instructors, but faculty heads are trying to be proactive, from making sure the book store stays stocked to planning for parking.
Overall, administrators say the boost in enrollment is a welcomed challenge. Sloan says every year is a learning experience, and from here they plan to adjust quickly and move forward. Fall classes begin August 25.
