Morris "Hunter" Miller who owns Miller's Plumbing Company in Tallahassee drowned Saturday evening off the coast of Shell Island.
A memorial service will be held Thursday afternoon at 3:30 at Faith Presbyterian Church off of North Meridian Road in Tallahassee.
Florida Fish and Wildlife officials say 55-year-old Miller was out fishing for pompano with 43-year-old Archie White when a wave flipped Miller's 21-foot boat.
Officials say Miller drowned, his body was discovered around 7pm. White was able to swim to shore and call for help. He was later taken to Bay Medical Center and released. Neither man was wearing a life jacket.
"We just had a severe storm pass through the area. The winds were still high and the water action was still high. At this point all we know is that a wave either flipped them or came over the back of the vessel and flipped them over and flooded the vessel," said LT Ed Cates, with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission.
Officials say an autopsy will be performed and the investigation may take four to six weeks to complete.

My sympathy for the family and friends. As well, this makes 4 people who have died fishing in high winds. Be careful, there's always another day to go out and enjoy fishing. I nearly lost my life on a clear day and soft wind, a rip tide took me away from my boat when I jumped in to cool off just 1 foot from the boat. The next thing I know I was 50 feet away. Thanks to a passing boat I was saved. I now use a rope tied to the boat. Respect the seas people, she will take your life in a minute.
