A study conducted by Autocount Research Group shows eight of the top 10 vehicles purchased in Valdosta are SUVs or trucks.
Chevy Tahoe and Ford F-150 top the list for consumers.
While these larger vehicles may not get good gas mileage, experts say motorists prefer SUVs and trucks because of pulling capacity, overall size, and off-road capabilities.
"We have four children, so luxury and comfort mean more than the gas prices do. When we have to go shop or travel somewhere we certainly need the comfort to travel or get what we need," said Valdosta resident Craig Prince.
Many people in the Azalea City say no matter how high gas prices increase, they won't get rid of their truck or SUV.
