Several streets within the city of Valdosta are being resurfaced through funding from the Department of Transportation's local assistance road program.
Oak Street, Ashley Street and Patterson are just a few of about 20 roads getting fixed up.
City officials say the project will take about two weeks, but most drivers don't seem to mind the temporary inconvenience.
Brendan Simms, a Valdosta driver, said, "Potholes, you know, will decrease the quality, I guess, of your ride. As far as people who do a lot of commuting, as far as working around the city, a smooth ride is always a benefit."
City officials say the state funded program will allow them to resurface even more roads in the future.
