The governor calls the whole situation "disgusting."
Bush says Foley was a good candidate for the GOP and he never had any hint there might be a problem.
“Mark Foley was a hard working guy. He was very energetic. He was an unbelievable candidate, enthusiastic. I didn’t have any inkling that he had these issues."
Bush says he plans to campaign for Joe Negron, the GOP’s handpicked candidate to replace Foley. Political pundits say Negron has little chance because it’s too late to change the name on the ballot.
Meanwhile, Democratic Tampa Congressman Jim Davis is hoping the Foley scandal can make a difference in the Florida governor’s race if voters decide it’s time for a clean sweep in November.
