Coach Bobby Bowden and several FSU football players took a "time out" Monday to make a dream come true for a young boy. Seventeen-year-old Andrew Pawlak traveled all the way from Nebraska to meet his favorite coach, something the Seminole fan thought may never happen when a rare disease changed his life.
Andrew Pawlak's day started off in style as a limo took him to a closed practice with the FSU football team. The 17-year-old was flown in from Nebraska by the Make A Wish Foundation to meet coach Bobby Bowden. Now, although the Seminole fan appears to be in good health, eight months ago the high school football player was struck down.
The very rare disease put Andrew in a coma, but he's bounced back even higher. In this case, to the top of the tower with coach Bowden. That visit left Andrew almost speechless.
As for the Nebraskan's future, he hopes to suit up as a Seminole one day.
We asked Andrew if the coach Bowden and the FSU football team made his wish come true. He said, they sure did.
