Concerns about adequate health care are heightening as the economy slumps... and local people want to make sure lawmakers know about their personal struggles.
People packed the city commission chambers in Tallahassee Tuesday night to share their health care nightmares with each other.
State Representative Alan Williams and Leon County Commissioner Cliff Thaell helped organize the town hall meeting.
Several nurses from across Florida supported the event.
"I've had patients who have had strokes because they didn't have enough money for their very probably inexpensive blood pressure medication but they had to feed the kids," says Betsy Marville, a registered nurse from West Palm Beach, Florida.
Organizers of the town hall urged people to write out their personal health care concerns and bad experiences.
The stories will be sent to Congressman Allen Boyd this week.
