Amherst County, VA More than 100 people spent Friday and Saturday combing the woods of Amherst County, Virgina for Ken Knight.
The 41-year-old disappeared while hiking the Appalachian Trail between Wintergreen and the Peaks of Otter.
Knight was found Saturday night by a group of firefighters from Big Island.

On his Twitter page, Ken Knight let everyone know he's alive - and thanks the men responsible for bringing him out of the woods - mainly the Big Island Fire Department.
Brandon Cocke was one of two volunteers at the firehouse Saturday when the call went out for a brush fire in nearby Snowden. Immediately, his thoughts turned to Knight.
Their instincts were correct, it was Knight who started the fire. He was sitting on a ridge above the James River, trying to let his rescuers know where to find him.
Searchers say they found Knight, just in time. After a week in the woods, his water and supplies were running dangerously low.
Knight was just a few miles away from the Appalachian Trail - a path he's hiked many times on his own, but somehow lost during his trip last week.
When he realized he was off course, Knight listened for streams and rivers that he recognized. Since he couldn't make it to the road, he started a fire instead - something Cocke says was a wise decision.
Knight was taken to Lynchburg General Hospital, where he was checked over and released last night.
