Leon County Animal Control is encouraging residents to protect themselves and pets from rabies after cases of rabies have surfaced.
Last year Leon County Animal Control responded to 8,000 service calls, 500 of them animal bite calls. In the past four months Animal Control has investigated ten cases of raccoon to dog contact, finding three raccoons to test positive for rabies.
