A consulting firm presented study results to the Valdosta City Council on a possible transit system.
The study shows most would use the buses between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m.
The most popular destinations would be the Valdosta Mall, Wal-Mart and downtown.
"Well, I think it's time for Valdosta to have some type of transit system. It could help people and it may even help with this problem with traffic now. So, yeah, I think it could be a very good idea," said Valdosta resident Laval Castleberry.
City officials say bus stops could be connected with wireless networking so people know when the bus will arrive at the stop.
