A little boy is fighting for his life after a train and a truck collide.
Leon county sheriff's deputies say around 10:45 Saturday morning a Chevy truck carrying five people, including a five-year-old boy, collided with a train.
The accident happened at the intersection of Gearhart and Mission road. Authorities say the 16-year-old driver, Jose Velta, tried to beat the train across the tracks. The five-year-old boy, Angel Velta, is listed in critical condition at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital Sunday morning. One other passenger was admitted to the hospital and is said to be in stable condition.
The accident is still under investigation by the Leon County Sheriff’s Department.
