A local official has lost his battle with cancer. City of Live Oak Public Works Superintendent Tommy Cundiff died Tuesday morning.
Family members say the 60-year-old found out he had pancreatic cancer only eight weeks ago.
Cudiff was a Live Oak firefighter for 22 years before being promoted to assistant fire chief.
He served only about a year and a half as public works superintendent before his death.
A funeral will be held Friday at 2PM at Westwood Baptist Church in Live Oak.
