A local teenager has died after losing control of his vehicle.
The Florida Highway Patrol says 17-year-old Samuel Cox of Port St. Joe was headed north on US 319 south of Sopchoppy last night.
Troopers say at about 10:20 he lost control, crossed the southbound lanes and hit a utility pole.
Cox, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the vehicle.
FHP says alcohol does not appear to have been a factor in the crash.
