This Veterans Day Americans everywhere pay tribute to the men and women who have served our country and those still serving.
Today Tallahassee is honoring its war veterans with an annual parade. Leading the parade this morning was the family of Daniel Chaires, a 20-year-old Marine killed just weeks ago in Iraq.
Chaires' untimely death drives home the price of freedom and the men and women who put their lives on the line everyday for our freedom.
Since World War II Tallahassee has honored its war veterans with a parade. Today veterans of past wars and the War on Terrorism walked side by side through the heart of Tallahassee, remembering fellow servicemen and women who put their lives in danger and some who gave their lives fighting for freedom.
The Leon County Board of County Commissioners sponsors the Veterans Day parade. All local and regional veteran groups and other interest parties were invited to participate.
