A sentencing hearing for a man charged with multiple counts of grand theft is set for Wednesday.

Prosecutors say 59-year-old Donald Wood got into a contractual agreement with several Leon County residents and promised to sell them mobile homes which he did not own.

Sheriff's deputies say Wood has already scammed people in Leon County out of nearly $40,000 and fear there are more victims out there but may be afraid to step forward.

"He is charged, basically, with 15 counts of grand theft. Of each grand theft count, the maximum penalty is five years in prison. If you run all of those counts consecutively, he is looking at 75 years in prison," said prosecutor Owen Kohler.

Deputies say Wood's criminal record stretches all over the state of Florida and even into Alabama. His sentencing is set for Wednesday at 3:00 p.m.
