Alex Sink attended Tuesday’s Cabinet meeting to get a feel for the procedures. She has also been meeting since Monday with outgoing CFO Tom Gallagher to form a transition plan.
Sink says one of her first missions will be taking a closer look at state contracting and outsourcing of state work.
Alex Sink said, “That’s what I talked about, fiscal accountability, out on the campaign trail, and that’s going to be one of my hallmarks because I need to be able to look the citizens in the face and say yes, we’re spending your money wisely and well and finding as much savings as we possibly can."
Sink will be the first woman and first Democrat to sit on the Florida Cabinet in four years.
