A dozen south Georgians were evacuated from their homes Sunday afternoon after a cargo train carrying hazardous materials derailed. Emergency workers say shortly after 1 p.m. on Saturday the train went off the tracks between Highway 84 and Wolf Creek Road in Whigham, Georgia.
Police say of the 99 cars, 14 overturned. Authorities say no passengers were injured and they aren't sure if any hazardous cargo spilled, but they're keeping the public and area residents away from the scene just in case. The incident remains under investigation.
