An 18-year-old girl from Miramar accused of shooting a classmate on a school bus was sentenced today to ten years in prison.
Camille Burke was charged with one count of attempted murder and was tried as an adult, but was 17 at the time.
She's accused of shooting the victim in the chest while they were arguing on a school bus last year. The victim survived, but had several surgeries on her arm.
Burke's lawyer told prosecutors that she decided to take an offer of a reduced prison sentence that would spare her a possible maximum sentence of life in prison.
Burke was also sentenced to ten years probation.
