Land off of Miccosukee Road will soon be known as the neighborhood Welaunee. The new community will also be the first to host a cutting edge technology, called Telehealth, where patients can be examined from home electronically.
FSU's College of Medicine is teaming up with the effort. While the concept may seem out of this world, doctors say it's very similar to convenient services we already take advantage of daily.
Telehealth reps say by the time the system is implemented, services could cost a just dollar a day. The Welaunee community is expected to be up and running in the next couple of years.
