More than 2,000 runners hit the pavement for the annual 3-K race.

Folks of all ages flooded the streets running and walking in their blue shirts and Santa hats.

Just after nine minutes the winner of the race sped through the finish line, but he said winning the Jingle Bell Run isn't why he participated in the event.

"It was really good. I really liked it. It kind of pulls the community together, and you know I like big events like this. The race isn't really so important, it's just something to bring the community together," said Alex Miletiche, winner of the Jingle Bell Run.

The Jingle Bell Run raises money and collects toys for underprivileged children in Leon County through donations and toy drives.
