The Tallahassee Fire Department was called to a fully engulfed home on Foxfield Terrace around 5:30 Sunday morning.
Paul Johns was sleeping inside his home at the time of the fire. Johns said his neighbors rescued him after hearing a loud bang caused by the bursting of propane tanks.
"Everyone was pounding on the door of the trailer, flames coming out, he finally came out the back door. Luckily he made it out with his life and the pair of shorts he had on. If it wasn't for these, probably everyone would have slept through it," said Jerry Basset, a neighbor.
Firefighters said the home is a total loss. Officials believe the blaze started near the front door, but the exact cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Red Cross is providing assistance, and Johns is staying with family.
