FAMU interim president Castell Bryant has brought about a change in the Department of Student Housing.
Students may now sign roommate agreement forms.
The forms spell out everything from borrowing things, visitation, study hours and room cleaning. Housing officials say the contracts were introduced this semester, and so far they've come in handy.
"Students may borrow things without asking. If they live in an apartment and have a kitchen they may cook something that was their roommate’s, and sometimes things can get blown up into a major issue, but if we can address issues in the beginning, it definitely helps," said Issac Brundage, Director of FAMU Student Housing.
The university has also started placing full-time resident directors in the dorms and they'll be available to handle all situations, 24-7.
