Shuttle Launch Goes Just as Planned

The space shuttle took off from the Kennedy Space Center as planned at 8:47 p.m. Saturday.

The launch was NASA's first evening launch in over four years.

The seven astronauts are on a 12-day mission to continue construction of the International Space Station.
