The Annual Greek Food Festival in Tallahassee kicked off with a bang Friday.
By noon Friday the lines for gyros, baklava and other famous Greek foods were longer than expected. Organizers at the Holy Mother of God Greek Orthodox Church call it a "family thing." About thirty families from the church volunteer their time to -- and their cooking - share the greek culture with the community.
John Vlandis, church member, said "We've been working together for a long time- we've been working for a long time preparing for this festival so if you go around- you'll see there are so many option-so many choices- a lot of work had to go into it."
If you missed out on the festivities Friday afternoon, you and your family can come out Friday night or Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The church is located off of Phillips Road.
