Ground breaking in the Southwood community marks the beginning of construction for a 1.8 million dollar project.
Tallahassee Memorial Health Care Center Southwood will offer primary care services, including therapy, obstetricians and family practices.
Staff from both Saint Joe and TMH chose the site, saying the community is growing and they saw the need to bring health care to the area.
Mark O'Bryant, the CEO and President of Tallahassee Memorial says, "The quality of health is a foundational element of the quality of life, so any time we can bring more health care services and actually make it more proximate to the needs of those who live in our community, that is always a good thing."
Organizers say the project will be done in two phases with the first phase completed in about a year.
And, fifty years from now a time capsule will be dug up to remember this day.
